Three men accused of attacking a journalist’s parent in Nyamira County have a case to answer.
This is according to Nyamira Senior Resident Magistrate Christabel Agutu.
Agutu said the prosecution had established a prima facie (a Latin adjective meaning fact or presumption that is sufficient to be regarded as true unless otherwise disproved or rebutted), and put the three on their defence.
“I find the three accused persons have a case to answer and they are hereby placed on their defence,” the she ruled.
Francis Ouru, Job Morara and Kevin Mogi who are in remand, are expected to give their defence on May 29.
Their lawyers Grace Bundi and Kennedy Mongare told the court they will give sworn evidence on that day.
The three are accused of attacking journalist Everlyne Kwamboka’s mother, Faustine Moraa Kiage, at her shop in Nyamaiya town on November 30, 2023.
The three are accused to have violently robbed Moraa of Sh22,000 and other valuable items.
They all denied committing the offense.
