POETIC TURN: Bosom Buddies

The very first time that we met,

We were caught in friendships net.

Bound together from the start,

You quickly found a place in my heart.

Whenever I found myself in a fix,

You were the one I’d always pick.

I’d ring your bell—no need to explain—

And you’d show up, again and again.

As time passed, we grew closer still,

Your kindness, wisdom, and iron will

Taught me what’s right, what I should do—

I’ve always leaned on the words from you.

Sometimes I’ve felt lost and alone,

No one to call, no friend of my own.

But then I’d shut my eyes and see

Your face—reminding me you’re with me.

I cherish the moments that we’ve shared,

Like butter and bread—we’re perfectly paired.

The wild adventures, the laughs we had,

All made me grateful, all made me glad.

Here’s to the silly fights we had,

Debating who was right—good or bad.

But those little spats just made us strong,

And you’d still guide me when I was wrong.

Our bond will last through sun and storm,

In every shape, in every form.

No matter where life leads us next,

This friendship stands—strong and unvexed.

Cheers to us—forever tight.

Our friendship is our guiding light.
