Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has renewed his call for political reform, national unity, and accountability in the wake of public disquiet and ongoing economic challenges.

Speaking during an interview with NTV, Odinga emphasized the need for inclusive dialogue and ethical governance, urging leaders to prioritize the dignity and rights of all Kenyans.

“We agreed to do an analysis of the implementation of the agendas that were proposed, and so the government should implement what was demanded by Gen Z,” Odinga said.

He confirmed that a task force has been established in collaboration with the international community to monitor progress and propose solutions aimed at restoring public trust.

Odinga condemned the brutality and injustices witnessed during the demonstrations, calling for compensation for victims and accountability for law enforcement officers who violated human rights.

“The duty of the police is to arrest criminals and take them to court. It is after due process that somebody should be punished,” he stated.

He also urged the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to ensure affordable elections, expand voter registration, and review constituency boundaries to promote fair representation.

Odinga called on Kenyans to exercise their sovereign power through peaceful assembly and participation in democratic processes.

He further appealed to the three arms of government to act independently and confidently in fulfilling their constitutional mandates.
