Over 100 golfers will descend on the lush par-71 Kisii Golf Club this Saturday for the highly anticipated leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour.
The tournament, which has become a hallmark of regional sporting excellence, kicks off at 6:30 a.m., with a second tee time set for noon as players vie for coveted spots in the tour’s grand finale.
Kisii Golf Club captain Adrian Monari expressed optimism ahead of the event saying, “We’re working hard to ensure the tournament’s success. Our greens are well-manicured, and the wide fairways promise an enjoyable experience for all players.”
“We’re expecting an impressive turnout and hope the best team earns its place at the finale.”
Uplifting communities
The Kisii showdown follows a strong outing from Machakos Golf Club, where two teams featuring golfers like Benjamin Mumo, John Masai, Faustine Maithya, and others clinched their spots in the finals after stellar performances.
KCB Group Director of Marketing and Communications, Rosalind Gichuru, emphasized the tour’s wider impact.
“The KCB East Africa Golf Tour is more than a game. It’s about building connections, nurturing talent, and uplifting communities,” she said.
“We’re excited to bring the tournament to Kisii and continue championing unity through sport.”
To date, the series has traversed seven Kenyan counties and touched down in Burundi and Uganda, solidifying its role in regional integration.
The tournament has engaged over 1,500 golfers, including more than 1,000 juniors through parallel clinics, and most recently hosted a dedicated caddie tournament in Nakuru—underscoring its inclusive spirit.
