The four-ball team of Dismas Mokua, Peter Mogendi, Zachary Bichage, and Andrew Nyanusi delivered a stellar performance at the par-70 Kisii Golf Club, returning a combined score of 99 points to win the latest leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour.
Their victory earned them a place in the tourâs grand finale, which is scheduled to take place on December 5.
In the individual category, Josphat Omayo, playing off a handicap of 20, stood out with an impressive 37 stableford points, emerging as the overall winner from a large and competitive field.
Speaking on behalf of his team during the prize-giving ceremony, Dismas Mokua expressed pride in their achievement, noting that the win was the result of teamwork and determination.
âIt is such an honor for us to emerge victorious after a competitive round of golf here at Kisii,â he said.
âWe had an amazing four-ball. As a team, we challenged each other on the course, and we knew that we had to take the game seriously for us to win. We intend to go to the grand finale to win.â
Other notable performances included Wycliffe Ayienda, who plays off handicap 8, and claimed the menâs winner award with 35 points.
Other contests
In the ladiesâ category, Christine Nyangena, playing off handicap 20, returned 33 points to secure victory.
The divisional contests saw Charles Aburi, handicap 6, top Division One with 35 points. Moses Lepiren, playing off handicap 20, led Division Two with 32 points, while Alanna Osoro, with a handicap of 40, dominated Division Three by carding 35 points.
Special prizes were also awarded, with Andrew Kombo winning the First Nine with 19 points and Peter Mogendi returning to claim the Second Nine title with 20 points.
Among the sponsors, Steve Nyamanya and Eliud Siganga both posted 29 points, with Nyamanya taking top honors and Siganga finishing as runner-up.
In the guest category, Scola Onsongo walked away with the Guest Winner award after posting 28 points.
The junior category was equally competitive, with Leo Osoro and Amani Kristen tying at 29 points. Leo was declared the winner on countback.
On-course challenges added excitement to the day, with David Biegon winning the Menâs Longest Drive, Elizabeth Mose claiming the Womenâs Longest Drive, and K Too securing the Nearest to the Pin prize.
The KCB East Africa Golf Tour now moves to Sigona Golf Club, where the next leg will be held on August 9, 2025, promising another thrilling round of competition as players continue to vie for a spot in the grand finale.
