Six golfers secured their places at the NCBA Golf Series Grand Finale after standout performances at the Nanyuki Sports Club qualifier held yesterday on the scenic 9-hole course.
The coveted slots went to Overall Gross Winners Cyprian Bundi and Purity Githui, alongside Division One winner Gabriel Miungi, Division Two winner Mugiiira Muthuri, Division Three winner Gatheru Wachira, and Junior winner Robin Bebbington (Jnr). The six will now represent Nanyuki at the season-ending finale scheduled for November 28 at Muthaiga Golf Club.
Bundi produced a stellar round of 70 gross to clinch the Men’s Gross title, while Githui impressed with 87 gross to claim the Ladies’ Gross honors.
In the nett categories, Miungi topped Division One (Handicap 0–12) with 36 points, edging a competitive field. Muthuri dominated Division Two (Handicap 13–24) with 41 points, as Jennifer Kariuki secured the Ladies’ Division II crown with 27 points. Division Three (Handicap 25+) was closely fought, with Henry Kamotho carding 35 points to emerge champion.
Among the juniors, Bebbington impressed with 27 points, while Kenneth Sawe took the Guest Winner award on 36 points.
Jesse Masiga claimed the Staff Winner title with 21 points.
Special prizes went to Mercy Wanjira (Longest Drive Ladies), Robin Bebbington (Longest Drive Men), and Jennifer Kariuki and Umraj Sehmi (Nearest to Pin Ladies and Men, respectively).
Speaking after the tournament, Nanyuki Sports Club Chairman Joseph Mwangi hailed the success of the event:
“We are delighted with how today’s leg unfolded. The turnout, the competition, and the spirit of the game all show how much this series means to our golfers. We are proud to host this qualifier and grateful to NCBA for their continued support of golf at this level. For our winners, this is just the beginning, and we look forward to seeing them represent Nanyuki strongly at the Grand Finale.”
NCBA Bank Kenya Managing Director James Gossip also praised the tournament’s impact, underscoring NCBA’s role in promoting both sport and community engagement:

The Nanyuki leg was the tenth engagement in the 2025 NCBA Golf Series, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to grassroots golf and community growth in the Central region.
With Nanyuki concluded, focus now shifts to Kericho Golf Club next weekend, as the chase for a coveted place in the season-ending finale at Muthaiga continues.
