The Gusii Scribes Welfare Association (GUSWA), whose members also form the Kisii Press Club, gathered in Kisii on Saturday for their annual general meeting.
It turned out to be an afternoon marked by reflection, laughter and renewed purpose.
Journalists from across the region reconnected as they reviewed a year of hard-won stories, challenges faced on the beat and the bonds that sustain their craft.
Amid heartfelt conversations, they mapped out a stronger, more unified future for local journalism.
The meeting was less about formality and more about family; scribes standing together, sharpening their vision and recommitting to telling their community’s stories with truth and heart.
The welfare draws membership from the broader Gusiii region (Kisii and Nyamira counties) other major towns in Kenya and elsewhere on the globe.
Below are a few pictures from the event.
