Her parents and teachers speak of her with a quiet pride, describing a girl whose uncommon character has steadily set her apart and lifted her among the country’s top performers.
At just 14, Hadassah Neema Moturi’s approach to life and learning is what those closest to her say has driven her success.
A pupil at Sukari Presbyterian Academy in Kiambu County, Hadassah scored an impressive EE1 STEM 74.12 points in the recently released KJSEA results.
“I am thrilled to celebrate Hadassah’s fantastic results in the KJSEA exams. Her success did not happen by accident; it is the result of the remarkable way she approached school every single day,” said her class teacher, Ms Lilian Sintala.
Ms Sintala recalled that Hadassah was always eager to understand more, never content with surface-level explanations.
She asked thoughtful, probing questions that pushed both her classmates and teachers to think deeper.
“What truly set her apart was her incredible focus, determination, and dedication to learning. She consistently volunteered to conduct research and willingly peer-taught other learners, doing so with great commitment and joy,” Ms Sintala said.
According to her teacher, Hadassah was also resilient, unafraid of mistakes, and quick to learn from them, often applying lessons from one subject to strengthen her grasp of another.
“This curious mind, combined with disciplined effort, enabled her to master the material and achieve such an outstanding score,” Ms Sintala remarked.
Beyond the classroom, Hadassah served as Class Prefect and Deputy Chair of the Debate Club between 2023 and 2025, roles she handled with confidence, humility, and maturity.
“Her leadership was equally admirable. Hadassah, I am so proud of you. You have shown us the power of a determined mind. Keep reaching for the stars — your future is incredibly bright,” her teacher added.

Speaking after receiving her results, Hadassah expressed both surprise and gratitude.
“I honestly didn’t expect it, but I am extremely excited and grateful. I thank the Almighty God for helping me throughout the year and blessing me with such amazing results. I do not take it for granted,” she said.
She explained that her study routine focused on fully understanding lessons in class.
“Whenever I didn’t understand, I sought consultation, which was highly encouraged at my school. I sometimes struggled with sleep because I stayed up late reading, but my mother advised me and ensured I rested enough. That balance helped me stay focused, healthy, and ready to learn.”
Hadassah acknowledged the challenges of being part of the first CBC Grade 9 class. “There was a lot of change in the syllabus, but we adapted and emerged victorious.”
She also paid tribute to her parents, Debbie Omayio Moturi and Erastus Moturi Sorobi, for their unwavering support.
“Financially, educationally, socially, and spiritually, they stood by me. I truly wouldn’t have come this far without your love, guidance, and encouragement,” she said, thanking her teachers and church as well.
Hadassah hopes to join Kenya High School and dreams of pursuing medicine or criminal investigations, “but mostly medicine, as that has always been my greatest dream.”
She expressed deep gratitude to Sukari Presbyterian Schools for the quality education she has received since joining in Grade Two in 2018 through to her final year in Junior Secondary.
Her father, Mr Erastus Sorobi, described her as an amazing, God-fearing girl — focused, diligent, and deeply committed to her studies.
“Her self-direction continues to amaze me. I thank God for blessing the work of her hands and shaping her into an all-round girl with a strong passion,” said Mr Sorobi, a journalist.
He added that the family looks forward with faith to her placement at Kenya High School, thanking Sukari Presbyterian Academy and CITAM Clay City Church for nurturing “Doctor Hadassah” in the making.
Her mother, Ms Debbie Omayio Moturi, said Hadassah has consistently demonstrated exceptional discipline and dedication.
“She is a good timekeeper, an excellent planner, and a wise manager of her energy. She knows when to rest, when to rise, and when to read — and she has remained focused without needing to be pushed or supervised,” she said.
