The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has stepped up preparations for the festive season for the good of local and foreign tourists.
This includes introducing special shuttle services and boosting security across national parks to ensure visitors enjoy a smooth and memorable holiday experience.
With local and international tourists expected to flock to parks and reserves over the coming weeks, KWS says the measures are designed to ease congestion, improve mobility and enhance safety during one of the busiest times of the year.
The newly introduced shuttle buses will operate within Nairobi National Park, Aberdare National Park and Lake Nakuru National Park.
According to KWS, the services are intended to reduce transport challenges while allowing visitors to focus on exploring Kenya’s wildlife without unnecessary logistical hurdles.
“Our goal this festive season is to make park visits more accessible, safe and enjoyable for everyone,” a KWS statement said.
“The shuttle services will help visitors move around comfortably while reducing traffic pressure and supporting conservation efforts.”
Beyond transport, KWS has also increased the presence of park wardens to assist visitors, offer guidance and respond promptly to any concerns.
Security has been reinforced across all parks, reserves and sanctuaries to ensure the safety of both tourists and wildlife.
The agency has reminded visitors to observe park regulations, particularly those aimed at protecting the environment.
Tourists are encouraged to keep parks plastic free, avoid single use plastics and dispose of waste responsibly.
“Protecting wildlife and preserving clean, natural environments is a shared responsibility,” the statement added.
“Every visitor has a role to play in ensuring our parks remain pristine for future generations.”
Customer support services have also been strengthened, with the KWS contact centre operating round the clock throughout the festive period.
