Rising Starlets head coach Jackline Juma has unveiled a 32-member provisional squad as Kenya intensifies preparations for the third round of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers against Tanzania, with the team already five days into camp.
The selection marks a significant trim from the initial pool of 60 players who reported at the start of preparations.
The technical bench has been conducting detailed assessments focused on form, fitness levels and tactical suitability as it shapes a balanced and competitive unit for the crucial assignment ahead.
Kenya heads into the next phase brimming with confidence after an impressive second-round outing against Ethiopia, where the Rising Starlets secured a dominant 4-1 aggregate victory to seal progression to round three.
While the result provided a morale boost, the coaching staff has underlined the need for renewed focus as the competition intensifies.
The two-legged tie against Tanzania will kick off at home, with the first leg scheduled for the 7th at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi.

The match will start at 3:00 pm before the team travels to Tanzania for the return leg on the 14th at the Azam Complex, where kick-off is set for 4:00 pm.
The provisional squad blends experienced players from the previous round with exciting young talents who have caught the eye in domestic competitions and recent national team engagements.
Being five days into camp has allowed the technical bench to prioritise tactical preparation, conditioning and team cohesion ahead of the decisive fixtures.

The provisional squad comprises goalkeepers Christine Adhiambo, Mercy Akoth, Velma Abwire and Ephy Awuor.
Defenders named are Sharlot Atieno, Jenevive Mithel, Triza Ekesa, Dorcas Glender, Diana Anyango, Elizabeth Ochaka, Lorine Ilavonga, Patience Asiko and Pauline Sylvia.
The midfield options include Brenda Awuor, Pearl Olesi, Lornah Faith, Halima Imbachi, Susan Akoth, Jerrine Adhiambo, Velma Awuor, Vidah Akeyo, Rebecca Odato and Fasila Adhiambo.
Leading the attack are Beffine Shalley, Quinter Mwendi, Joan Ogola, Valarie Nekesa, Hilder Natecho, Quinter Adhiambo, Emily Morang’a, Elizabeth Mideva and Edna Nasipwondi.
