Safaricom has emerged as the overall corporate champion at the Professional Golfers of Kenya (PGK) Equator Tour, which concluded with a thrilling finale at the Royal Nairobi Golf Club.
The Safaricom team — comprising Samuel Njoroge, Mutahi Kibugu, Mohit Mediratta, and Matthew Wahome — dominated the corporate standings throughout the season, finishing with an impressive 8,555 points.
They outpaced Kenya Airways (6,280), Johnnie Walker (6,025), NCBA (5,680), Visa (5,435), and Britam (1,855), securing the coveted Corporate Shield.
On the individual leaderboard, Greg Snow clinched the overall title with 4,450 points, while Safaricom-sponsored golfer Samuel Njoroge finished second with 3,680 points after a consistent campaign.
Kibugu placed sixth, highlighted by his runner-up finish at the finale, while Mediratta ranked eleventh. Wahome closed the season with 160 points.
Speaking after the victory, Njoroge praised the team’s resilience:
“Finishing first as a team in this PGK Equator Tour has been an incredible experience. The competition demanded focus, discipline, and consistency from start to finish. I am extremely proud of what our Safaricom team has achieved.”
Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa commended the players, reaffirming the company’s commitment to nurturing sports in Kenya:

The Royal Nairobi finale capped a season of high-level competition and growing fan engagement.
Attention now turns to the Magical Kenya Open, where Safaricom-sponsored golfers will compete on the global stage.
