The final leg of Betika BingwaFest Season Two is underway in Kwale County, culminating on Sunday, February 22, at Kwale Stadium, with up to KES 17 million in prize money at stake.
Defending football champions Bandari Youth and KNCP Queens return to defend their crowns, eager to repeat last season’s memorable victories in Mombasa.
Both sides began their campaigns with draws—Bandari Youth held goalless by Simba Apparel, whom they beat 1-0 in last season’s final, and KNCP Queens playing 3-3 against Blue Sea Ladies.
The multi-sport festival heats up Thursday with rugby preliminary matches at NYS Mtongwe Grounds, leading to finals at Kwale Stadium on Sunday.
Basketball tips off Friday at the stadium, while athletics events take place at Shanzu Teachers Training College, featuring top athletes including Japan-based Wilson Rotiana Lemangale, reigning Africa and national 10,000m champion Gladys Kwamboka, Ostrava Golden Marathon winner Mary Munanu, and Naomi Korir, fresh from her 2km Sirikwa Cross Country win.

Betika Head of Brand Eric Mwiti said: “We are excited to be in Kwale as we conclude the regional qualifiers for Season Two. This region has always produced incredible talent, and BingwaFest gives athletes a platform to shine.”
“Beyond competition, they get to test themselves against some of the best national and international performers. We look forward to an entertaining and competitive weekend as we crown the Coast Bingwas.”
Prize money remains lucrative: football and rugby champions earn Ksh 1 million, with runners-up and third-place finishers awarded K 500,000 and Ksh 250,000, respectively.
Basketball winners take Ksh 500,000, with second and third place teams earning Ksh 250,000 and Ksh 100,000.
In athletics, 10,000m gold medalists earn Ksh 300,000, 5,000m winners take Ksh 250,000, while other track events award gold medalists Ksh 150,000.

Beyond competition, Betika BingwaFest continues its community focus, hosting a free medical camp throughout the weekend at Kwale Stadium offering general and specialist consultations, laboratory, and pharmacy services.
