Unilever, Google Cloud Ink Five-Year AI Partnership to Drive Digital Transformation

Unilever has announced a landmark five-year strategic partnership with Google Cloud aimed at accelerating the consumer goods giant’s digital transformation through advanced artificial intelligence and data technologies.

Under the collaboration, Unilever will leverage Google Cloud’s AI, data analytics, and next-generation marketing tools to fuel growth across its global brand portfolio, including Dove, Vaseline and Hellmann’s.

Central to the partnership is Google Cloud’s enterprise AI platform, Vertex AI, which will be deployed to develop new capabilities in brand discovery, performance measurement, and AI-powered marketing.

The companies said the move is intended to reshape how consumer packaged goods are discovered and purchased as shopping journeys become increasingly conversational and automated.

Unilever will also migrate its integrated data and cloud platform to Google Cloud, creating what it described as an enterprise-wide, AI-first digital backbone.

The new system is expected to help the company generate demand faster, convert data into actionable insights, and respond more swiftly to shifting market conditions.

Willem Uijen, Unilever’s Chief Supply Chain and Operations Officer, said technology is now central to the company’s value creation strategy.

“As brands are increasingly discovered and chosen in environments shaped by AI, we must lead this shift. This collaboration with Google Cloud sets a new level in how technology can power commerce and growth,” Uijen said.

Tara Brady, President of Google Cloud EMEA, said the partnership goes beyond system modernization to deploying advanced AI models capable of reasoning, learning and acting.

“This will set a new standard for agility and consumer engagement in the consumer packaged goods sector,” Brady said.

The partnership will focus on three key areas: building agentic commerce and marketing intelligence, establishing an integrated data and cloud foundation, and accelerating the adoption of advanced AI technologies.

Unilever products are sold in more than 190 countries and used by about 3.7 billion people daily. The company reported sales of €50.5 billion in 2025 and employs approximately 96,000 people worldwide.
