Kenyatta University (KU), defending champions of the Kenya University Sports Federation (KUSF) 3×3 basketball, opened their title defence with a 19-13 win over Maseno University.
The match took place at Court A on the first day of the National Play-offs at Kabarak University in Nakuru County.
KU captain Brian Mutua said the team is confident despite the challenge of defending their title.
“As defending champions, it will be a tough task, but we are ready. We have no pressure to retain it. Our aim is to put our opponents under pressure, not ourselves,” Mutua said.

“KUSF exposes our talents, especially in 3×3 basketball. Even if we lose, we are here to compete,” she said, highlighting the balance between sports and academics.
