The 2026 NCBA Golf Series shifts to the Kenyan coast this Saturday with the Mombasa Golf Club Mug, marking the fourth leg of this year’s national circuit.

More than 80 golfers are expected to converge at Mombasa Golf Club, all chasing top honours and coveted qualification slots to the season-ending Grand Finale.

The finale will be staged later in the year at the prestigious Karen Country Club.

Qualification places will be awarded to the Overall Gross Winner, Men’s Gross Winner, Lady Gross Winner, Division Two Men Winner, Division Two Lady Winner, Division Three Winner, and the leading Junior golfer.

The Coast leg carries strong memories from last season, when Gurbux Singh produced a solid round of 77 to claim the Overall Gross Winner title. George Githinji impressed in Division One, carding a net 72 off handicap eight.

Division Two saw Clifford Tolo shine with an outstanding 64, edging Sam Muraya (65), while George Mokaya finished third on 71.

In Division Three, Salim Taib emerged victorious with a 69, ahead of Vincent Muriungi (70) and Paul Munyao (71).

Singh, Githinji, Tolo and Taib went on to represent Mombasa at the Grand Finale and will be aiming to repeat the feat when they tee off this weekend.

NCBA Group Managing Director John Gachora said the series continues to unite golfing communities across the country.

“The NCBA Golf Series brings communities together and challenges golfers to push their limits. As we head to Mombasa for the fourth leg, we are excited to see players embody this year’s theme of ‘Conquering the Course.’ The Coast has always delivered exceptional talent and spirit, and we look forward to another memorable weekend,” he said.

Gachora also highlighted the bank’s focus on junior golf development, noting the inspiration drawn from Njoroge Kibugu’s recent performance at the Magical Kenya Open.

Meanwhile, junior golfers will also be in action as the NCBA US Kids Golf Spring Local Tour hosts its second leg at Limuru Golf Club on Sunday.

The junior series teed off earlier this month at Vet Lab Sports Club and continues to provide a competitive platform for nurturing emerging golf talent across the country.
