Nyamira Governor Amos Kimwomi Nyaribo has announced a sweeping reorganization of the county executive and senior administration.
Nyaribo reassigned County Executive Committee Members (CECs) and Chief Officers in changes aimed at strengthening service delivery and administrative efficiency.
In a gazette-style notice dated February 26, 2026, the Governor said the changes were effected pursuant to Article 179(2)(b) of the Constitution and relevant provisions of the County Governments Act, 2012 (as amended).
The reshuffle affects key portfolios across finance, lands, environment, gender, trade and public service management within the Nyamira County government.
Under the new assignments, Stephen Oboso was moved from Lands, Housing, Urban Development and Physical Planning to head the Finance and Economic Planning docket.
Jones Moko Omwenga was transferred from Finance and Economic Planning to Trade, Tourism and Cooperative Development.
Dr. John Orambia Matiangi shifted from Environment, Water, Energy, Natural Resources and Climate Change to Gender, Culture, Sports and Social Services.
Bernard Mbere Maina was reassigned from Trade, Tourism and Cooperative Development to Lands, Housing, Urban Development and Physical Planning, while Alice Manoti moved from Gender, Culture, Sports and Social Services to Environment, Water, Energy, Natural Resources and Climate Change.

In the same update, the Governor also announced the reassignment of two County Chief Officers.
Rael K. Momanyi was moved from Public Service Management to Gender, Culture, Sports and Social Services, while Dr. Mercy Moraa Motanya was transferred from Gender, Culture, Sports and Social Services to Public Service Management.
“All the officers affected are expected to hand over or take over their respective offices by not later than March 6, 2026,” the notice reads, adding that the County Secretary has been directed to ensure full compliance.
The changes come as part of Governor Nyaribo’s ongoing efforts to realign the county leadership with development priorities and improve coordination across departments.
While no reasons were officially given for the reshuffle, such moves are typically intended to inject new energy into service delivery and enhance accountability within county administrations.
