Edwin Kiptoo carded an impressive 72 nett to clinch the Division A title as the 2026 NCBA Golf Series staged a fiercely competitive fourth leg at the historic Mombasa Golf Club over the weekend.
Playing off handicap 11, Kiptoo edged out Sheel Dodhia, also handicap 11, who finished runner-up on 73 nett. Peter Kimanga, likewise playing off 11, completed the Division A podium with 75 nett in a closely fought contest.
Division B honours went to Martin Irungu (handicap 15), who returned 71 nett to win on countback ahead of Sam Muraya, also on 71 nett.
Johnson Muriuki (handicap 18) finished third with 77 nett.
In Division C, Rana Umair (handicap 25) produced a standout performance to take top honours, while Joseph Kitema (handicap 27) and Col. James Ndungu (handicap 19) placed second and third respectively.
The Best Gross award was claimed by Gurbux Singh (handicap 2), whose solid round underlined his consistency at the Coast leg of the series.

More than 80 golfers took part in the February Mug, braving challenging coastal conditions in pursuit of silverware and qualification slots to the season-ending Grand Finale at Karen Country Club.
Speaking during the prize-giving ceremony, NCBA Regional Retail Manager for the Coast Region, Yasir Ashur, congratulated the winners and reaffirmed the bank’s long-term commitment to golf development.
He noted that the series continues to nurture talent while opening pathways for players to compete at the highest level.
The Mombasa leg added momentum to the 2026 circuit, which now heads to Mt. Kipipiri Golf Resort, as golfers continue their quest for places at the Grand Finale.
Meanwhile, Team Zamara emerged overall winners at the NCBA Corporate Golf Day held at Karen Country Club, posting 122 points to top a field of 146 golfers and 20 corporate teams. Total Energies finished second, with Safaricom placing third.
In individual categories, Kate Murima claimed the Lady Winner title, while Edwin Omollo emerged Men’s Winner. NCBA Group Managing Director and CEO John Gachora said the Corporate Golf Day remains a key platform for strengthening partnerships and stakeholder engagement through sport.
The event concluded with a gala dinner and awards ceremony, reaffirming NCBA’s growing footprint in Kenyan golf.
