The Principal Secretary for Information, Communications, Broadcasting and the Digital Economy, Steve Isaboke, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to citizen-focused development.
Isaboke spoke when he made a series of engagements across Nyamache and neighbouring areas.
Isaboke began his tour at the newly completed Nyamache Bridge, a critical infrastructure project designed to improve connectivity and facilitate trade.
The PS inspected the bridge’s completion and engaged directly with residents, stressing that government investments must deliver tangible benefits to wananchi.
He described the bridge as more than a physical structure, calling it an enabler of mobility, commerce, and social interaction.

In line with the Digital Superhighway agenda, Isaboke visited the Bogesaka Jitume Digital Hub, currently under construction.
He assessed progress on the project, which is expected to expand access to digital opportunities, empower youth, and integrate rural communities into the digital economy.
The PS emphasised timely delivery and functionality, noting that such hubs are central to bridging the digital divide.
The tour also included a stop at St. Ambrose Kabeo Catholic Parish in Masige East, where Isaboke met Father Bernad Otunga and parishioners. He pledged support for the completion of the newly opened cathedral, highlighting the role of faith-based institutions in fostering community cohesion, moral guidance, and social support.

Throughout his engagements, Isaboke stressed the importance of a “whole-of-government” approach, urging coordinated efforts across sectors to ensure projects are completed effectively and sustainably.
His hands-on inspections and community dialogues reflected a leadership style rooted in accountability, inclusivity, and results.
He noted that the broader  government agenda entails connecting citizens through infrastructure, empowering them through technology, and uniting them through shared purpose.
