A group of elders from the Abatondo clan in Nyaribari Chache has endorsed Communication Authority (CA) board member Okeng’o Nyambane to run for the MP seat in the 2027 General Election.
The elders cited Nyambane’s leadership, integrity and commitment to community development.
Speaking in Ibeno Ward, elder Charles Ongaki said the decision followed wide consultations within the clan.
He described Nyambane as a dependable leader who understands the needs of the people and consistently supports the vulnerable.
“We, as Abatondo elders, have watched Okeng’o grow and serve our people with dedication—paying medical bills, covering mortuary expenses and educating needy students. He has demonstrated honesty, humility and a genuine commitment to uplifting the less fortunate,” said Ongaki.
The elders said they had chosen Nyambane as their preferred candidate to represent their voice, expressing confidence in his goodwill within the community.
They also urged constituents to register as voters and turn out in large numbers to support his bid.
“For the past four years, our constituency has grappled with unemployment, poor infrastructure and limited access to essential services, often reduced to handouts,” said Patrick Kebuncha.
The elders expressed confidence that Nyambane has the vision and capacity to address these challenges if elected.
The endorsement signals an early wave of political alignments in the constituency as aspirants begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 polls.
